Yes if mr Boshoff kicked better it could've been different, but the inconsistency that the Lions had shown throughout the currie cup showed up again in the final. Like Fulcrum said... laws of averages - too many good games in a row for the lions, they were bound to have a bad one.

yeh, the ex-lion had schit in his hands. don't know what it is with province and ex-lions players. you steal and borrow the ones at the top of their game, and then when they start playing for you, they just suck balls. Taute, Rhodes... even when you borrowed Elton Jantjies... must be something in the water ;)

Nizaam Carr belongs with the Boks

Western Province's MVP and Players' Player of the Year was immense on Saturday and deserves to be included in the Springbok squad for their end-of-year tour. Carr again carried the ball strongly, making 116m from 14 runs. He also made 19 tackles, more than any other player on the park. When asked about Carr at the start of the Currie Cup, Heyneke Meyer said he had enjoyed what he had seen of the flanker in Super Rugby and that the message to him was to keep on playing well because he is on the national radar. Carr has done exactly that and should be rewarded for it.

Personally I don't think Carr will make it this year, he was invited to the Springbok camp during the Currie Cup so the possibility is there, but I think next year.
 
Good lord but the Lions' scrum is beastly. I wonder if Alistair Vermaak has managed to remove his head from his rear end yet? He bore the brunt of the demolition job at scrum time.

Sadly, terrible handling at crucial times and freakin' Boshoff. . .Two kicks, lad, two kicks. That is all we needed from you. :(

A strong track record in Currie Cup, Super Rugby is still challenging him, and he needs Springbok exposure. He is still young enough... Personally I want to see this Lions team in the upcoming Super Rugby. The issue though is that some players gets stuck on a level... Generally I think Jaco is a valued player in his position.
