Me and the BF went this Saturday and test drove both. He did the driving though. First the guy from the dealership let us test drive the H2. Great car. Really soft on the road and looks great inside. Build quality is fantastic. Engine is lekker and does the job, but if you are looking for that "push back into your seat when putting your foot down" feeling, then this is not the car for you.
Afther the H2 we took the H6C for a drive and OMG! What a car! While we were waiting for the demo unit to come back from another test drive we got into the display unit on the showroom. Guys, this car blew us away!!!! The quality of the interior is really out of this world. The one on the showroom and the one we test drove was the city one, not the lux, but the upholstery of the seats really is top notch! It feels great to the touch and the cushioning on the seats feels fantastic. Nice and firm and solid. But the best part is the space inside this car is simply fantastic! We got into the car and admired the front and the screen and the fact that it feels really spacious inside at the front. We then both looked to the back and then looked at each other and had a WTF moment. It is huge in the back also. We got out and then got into the back. I showed him that I have enough legroom still in the back behind the front front passenger seat, even though when I was sitting there I had more than enough legroom also (I am 1.93m tall). It was really impressive. We were also a bit worried about headroom due to the fact that the roof does seem to slope a bit downwards from the outside, but that too really was not a issue at all.
Then the H6C test car came back and we took it out. Even though the H2 is already very soft on the road, this one felt even better. Felt no bumps etc on the road on the way to the highway. Only one where there was a line dug out over the length of the road that we could feel, but you would feel that in any car. Immediately, we could feel the difference in power compared to the H2 (1.5 turbo). The H6C has got a 2.0 Turbo. We got on the highway and he put his foot down. Jeebers.....this thing sprinted away and you got that proper push back into your seat feeling. We heard could hear a "veeeeeeeeeee tsh tsh" sound coming from the engine and asked the guy from the dealership (he was sitting in the back) what it was. He said it was the turbo. It sounded really awesome! The H2 did not make that sound at all, even though he floored it the same way when we went onto the highway. The car felt great on the highway. Extremely stable and solid. I could not hear any road or wind noise.
So that is that.....that was my Haval experience this weekend.....and let me just say I am blown away by this car. It is awesome! Boyfriend is now actually considering buying one. He has a Audi that is just standing (he drives his company's van most of the time) and has been wanting to sell the Audi and get a SUV to drive to Botswana etc and was looking at a second hand Toureg or a Kia perhaps, but he is now seriously considering the Haval.
