2015 Israeli Elections thread

You are perfectly happy with a PM whose government unashamedly supports the building of settlements and the partners he chooses are quite clear on never giving any land back to the Palestinians.... Land which they are continually encroaching on.

Tell me again how you are not supportive of settlements?

It must be terrible to be deaf and blind.
I have said it how many times ??????
I only support him because he is not taking the attacks lying down. Because he is not taking the one that can't be mentioned attacks lying down.
Settlements are the only thing I don't support ......For the billionth time

You mean the land that was captured from Jordan, the land that they Jordan annexed in 1950 and then lost in a war to Israel?
The land that was promised to the Jews by the league of nations - the same mandate that formalised the creation of two British protectorates: Palestine, to include a national home for the Jewish people, under direct British rule, and Transjordan, an Emirate governed semi-autonomously from Britain, under the rule of the Hashemite family.

If you reject the league of nations decision regarding the Palestinian mandate, then you may as will dissolve the country of Jordan at the same time.

There is no such thing as Palestinian land - the Arabs rejected the UN partition plan in 1948 - its a tad late to go oopsy now, we didn't destroy the Jews, so you know what, we erm, changed our minds.

Not really it is just fact. Fact that also pre 1948 the so called settlements in the area of gush etzion were all originally Jewish settlements that their Jewish inhabitants were murdered by Jordanians and the villages and kibbutzim destroyed- so how are these so called settlements now Palestinian?

Yes but some people don't like the facts

Says there the land was purchased in the 1920s...? So 'original' Jewish settlements from 1920s? Doesn't say who they bought it from, though.

These folk weren't descendants of the Old Yishuv, were they?

Anyway, I presume the murders you were talking about is the Kfar Etzion massacre, which was preceded by the Deir Yassin massacre by Zionist terrorists.

This tit-for-tat nonsense has been going on too long, honestly.

How far back in history would you like to go?

So what - the fact is they are there now, most of them not even being alive in 1948.

They are not going to just vanish ( as much as many would like that to happen ) - so what's the plan, just more subjugation ?

How's that worked out ?

So what's your solution? Jews live side by side with people that are hell bent on their destruction?
You seriously think land is the issue ?
I have a good idea why don't the Jews just give the land to the Arabs and then a new attempt at wiping out Jews can start again.
History repeating itself.
Israel is far more important to the Jewish nation than this

 You really need to count to ten before you answer, you'll give yourself a coronary.

All I'm saying is the same as I've always said -

The solution for the last 10 years hasn't worked, and I'm not even going to go into who's to blame or who did what first.

If the plan is just more of the same, then more of the same is what's going to happen.

Nope they should annex and grant full Citizenship to the current inhabitants, same that was given to the Arabs that didn't flee in 1948.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/19/benjamin-netanyahu-two-state-solution_n_6902666.html

Fresh off his party's victory in this week's parliamentary election, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday walked back a statement from earlier this week in which he had ruled out a "two-state" solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"I haven't changed my policy," Netanyahu said Thursday in an interview with NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent Andrea Mitchell.

"I don't want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution," he added.

This is sleazy even by his standards.

So he lied to his voters ?

Good question, with land disputes how far back can one go? Shouldn't there be some sort of statute of limitation?

A generally accepted point in history to reference to is the break up of the Ottoman Empire. That is the point in Modern history where nearly all the current Middle Eastern countries borders were formed, including Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Israel Etc.

As has been said by heads of state....he's just a liar.

Can you name a politician anywhere in the world that hasn't told a porky now and then?
Anyhow if he did lie and wants a two state solution, shouldn't you rather be pleased?
