Seems dangerous but please share even if it's just to play with in the garage. Mazda driver here.
Oh for the OP that 2L even works well in the much bigger CX-5 also the CX-3 so i'm sure it will be fantastic in the smaller 3

Quick Q afaik the Swift Sport has no "proper" infotainment screen?

From what I've seen after intense internetz research is that there's no modern infotainment system.
They prefer to call this a "traditional sporty hatchback", meaning not much in terms of modern niceties.
That said 100kw/160nm in ~1050KG body does sound like fun. I might even test drive one.
But the interior does fall short (way short) of even the entry level Mazdas.

It's not like you sit with your eyes glued to the screen all the time, I use it for things like music videos or the kind of things I don't need to look at the screen all the time. It's nice being able to glance over at some visuals while stationary like yesterday when it took 2.5h to do 50km standing still most of the time. I just listen to music if traffic is flowing as there's no use for the video then...
If you want to go be an idiot and watch something like Homeland on there you will have a bad time and probably a crash! So in that case I agree, it can be stupid!

Basically it uses the SSH connection through WiFi Hotspot on your phone to initiate the playback of video files to the screen.
 
I was going to recommend a Peugeot 208, since I own one, but I see that they have taken away the maintenance plan that used to be standard, and dramatically increased the prices. Now a 208 is more expensive than the equivalent VW.

Mazda has a 3 year unlimited KM Service Plan and Warranty which works well for the guys doing high mileage.

Lol we all know what that outcome will be and I understand your point. As I said, I use it in a safe manner and to be honest I don't use it often at all.
 
I would use the video playback at the parking lot at the mall while waiting for the wife. Would be great if they allowed video when parked and switch it off automatically when you start the engine or shift to 1st. Not allowing it at all is a little strict
 
I recently bought the new Mazda 3 1.6 2015 Dynamic model.

I'm not a car junkie or have never owned a car with a bigger engine than 1.6 (previous car, 1.6 Ford Focus 2007 SI) and still have a Toyota Tazz 1.3 Sport 2000 year model.

Would have loved to purchase the 2.0 Skyactive ASTINA model, but they were heavily out of my price range.
I test drove the Polo Highline 1.2 TSI DSG (81kw) which had nice performance, but very cramped inside, for the same amount of money...
Drove straight to the Mazda dealership and the change in scenery when I got inside the Mazda was amazing. Comfy seats, the leather trim on the Dynamic models is very nice. Red stitching all over...

Yes, it's no turbo charged motor, but does not lack power when putting foot down, although, I don't have much to compare with other than the Focus I have driven for the last 5 years...

The 1.6 is no speed junkies car, but it's fun to drive, not sloppy or does not feel like jelly when you take a corner at a higher speed.

The 3 Year unlimited KM warranty and service plan is also a big plus for those driving quite a distance each day.

+1 for the Mazda 2 or 3 if you can afford it!

How does the drive and performance feel compared to the Polo?

Yeh the gear shift on the Mazda3 is amazing. Really fun. Can only imagine how much more fun it would be with more power.

I'm down @ the coast... :)

Honestly, the 1.2 TSI Highline DSG Polo feels more sluggish than the Mazda 3 (they are only 3 or 4KW apart, spec wise), but I think it's due to that DSG 'box. I think it's a bit "advanced" for the motor it's driving, feels like the engine needs to think when you shift at higher revs, it's not as snappy as it is in the 1.8T GTI counterpart...

But it's still a very nice little car, but for the same money you get the Mazda 3, which offer Leather trim, big infotainment system, SATNAV (dealer gave mine free on deal along with a big discount), Auto headlights, auto rain sensing wipers, all standard on the Dynamic model...

And yes, even on the 1.6, the gear shift on the manual 'box is very snappy, surprised me when I "raced" my brothers 1.0T Corsa the other day...
 
Looking at getting the Hazumi in the family, is it any good? How does it pull up hills etc? Is it better to get the petrol Individual model?
