2016 Renault Megane (4th Generation)

The pricing is quite good considering the local motoring market today.

I like the look to be honest PB..it's rather distinctive in this segment. I don't think it looks like Clio 4 to be honest; I can see vast exterior differences.

It's a very good car I say but limited vehicle range in SA does limit it + almost R100k price gap for the GT is rather excessive.

New RS model will be tops though!

Hyundai (Sunday) SA & Kia SA should take lessons from Renault:

"The firm’s R-Link infotainment system is standard fare across the range. Lower spec variants make do with a 7-inch touchscreen while the GT-Line and GT models employ a tablet-like 8,7-inch screen."

Even "poverty spec" model gets proper 7" system.

"With the new Mégane, Renault has a very capable car on its hands, but the real threats to the newcomer are two-fold: first, the firm’s historically poor after-sales record and second, the Volkswagen Golf.

The first Renault addresses with a five-year/150 000 km mechanical warranty and five-year/90 000 km service plan, which should bring peace of mind to prospective buyers. However, to beat the evergreen and class-leading Golf is a slightly more difficult prospect. Will Mégane succeed in doing so? Only time will tell…"

Went to Renault Bryanston today to check it out... The launch was yesterday and they had cars there but the press now have them. Next week is training on the cars and I was told to come the week after when they will have the cars on the floor

Just came back from Renault Bryanston... Had a brief look and sat in the 1.2 GT Line as well as had a glance at the 1.6 GT.

The car looks brilliant and the interior feels really good. I was offered a test drive but didn't go for it...

How's that portrait infotainment system? Said to be quite good..
It looks good but keys weren't in the car so I didn't turn it on :D

The system I had on the Koleos was very nice with the TomTom satnav so I'd expect this to be much better
