It does make more sense, like I said. Usability wise its the way to go, less stretching to reach what you want on the display and so on. Its not like you are going to watch series or movies on it.....well you are not meant to, but seeing what some guys have done with the Clio 4's MediaNav, its only a matter of time.

That's not the Gt, it's the ordinary Megane, but I guess that's just how beautiful the car is, even the lower model looks exquisite.

It was the GT...
It's a GT-Line 1.2t and not the GT 1.6 Turbo.
No GT badge underneath the Renault badge on nose and not the right 18" wheels.

When you can't tell from the first look then it can only mean Renault has done something wonderful.

I dropped by the dealer yesterday for my first look at the Meg 4. They only had a 1.2 manual on the floor, pity because I wanted to test drive the 1.2 EDC.
Very nice car and I hope they sell well in SA.
Although its got a bigger wheelbase the inside cabin is still same size than Meg 3. The sculpted backs of the front seat helps a bit with longer legs and the cabin feels more "wrapped" around you when sitting at the back. It's quite obvious that the space gained from the longer wheelbase is used between the engine and firewall as the engine is not tugged away underneath the dash, lets hope that services will be cheaper!
Front seats is amazing and you get comfortable very easily.
The cabin "mood colours" is a bit gimmicky and funny enough that was the first thing that the salesmen showed me??? Might appeal to some my age, but maybe I'm just full of *****.
Also the 1990's looking airbag and seatbelt reminder lights is now in the roof! :wtf: It looks so out of place in this modern cabin.
The portrait screen works very well, and I would guess all the other brands will follow suit.
Boot is about the same size as the Meg 3, although with a higher sill.
Finally the French learned from the previous Megs flaws in some instances.
- No more grippy plastic coatings that peal on inside handles (Meg 2) and lower centre console (Meg 3)
- Wipers can lift up from front window without getting caught by bonnet (Meg 3)
Will I trade in my trusty 1.9dCI Meg 3 for a Meg 4?

Lol. +1. I get it to, when I tell people I drive an Alfa. They all bring up the 80's stereotype of Alfa's are unreliable.

Lol, I'll probably get R60k for it and then I'll need to spend R450k + extra Randellas to get same kit. No thank you.
The extra 60 odd kw and auto box is not worth it.
Nice to see that we got some proud Renault guys on the forum.
It's like having a French mistress, bloody fiery temper but satisfaction guaranteed.

They are lovely. One of the funny parts is when a mate who bought a German car for twice the price realises their car is not as well specd as your Frenchie. The built-in SatNav in my Clio has lead many VWs and BMWs to the promised land.
Lets not get on to the subject of Rain Sensing whipers, auto headlights, keyless entry+auto locking, and tire pressure sensors in my <R190,000 car, some actually have to sell a kidney to get such things in their +R300K vehicle. Oooh shem!

I hear you; many yrs ago when I had my Renaultsport Clio 182 it at as standard xenon lights; headlight washers; alcantra bucket seats; cruise control; auto wipers; esp etc...
Rivals costing double back then did not have some of these features.

Yep, to this day, many creature comforts you get standard in a Renault are optional extras in many others. Drove a friend's 2016 BMW 120i some months ago, and when trying to get a better route to get to someone's place, I was surprised to find that screen that sits on the dash doesn't have SatNav, I was like 'wtf is the point of it then?' lol, in 2016, what sort of +R250,000 car doesn't have SatNav standard? Seems the Frenchie has spoilt me.
