2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast

Get a look at Mansory’s 818bhp Stallone GTS

Ferrari 812 GTS not got enough rear wing for you? Mansory is here to save the day

Welcome to the Mansory Stallone GTS – a wild, bewinged and open-topped supercar built for those that think the standard Ferrari 812 GTS is a little sluggish.

Yep, Mansory has fiddled with the 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 to extract a frankly terrifying 818bhp and 546lb ft of torque (which still all gets sent to the rear wheels). That’s 29bhp and 17lb ft more than standard, by the way.

Top speed is now 214mph (up from 211mph), and it’ll do 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds. Rapid.

That top speed increase may only be 3mph, but it’s even more impressive when you see the size of that rear wing. Clearly Mansory felt the Ferrari was lacking downforce, too.

The rest of the bodykit is all carbon fibre – of course, this is Mansory we’re talking about here – and the wheels are 22-inch forged units.

Ferrari 812 Competizione

WHAT'S THE VERDICT?

“If the 812 Competizione is the last Ferrari to have a naturally-aspirated V12, we can’t think of a better way of going out with a bang”

If the 812 Competizione is the last Ferrari to have a naturally-aspirated V12, we can’t think of a better way of going out with a bang. It’s a raucous expression of what’s possible. When ICE cars are banished in 2030, this is one we'll look back fondly on.

The Comp brings all the romanticism, technology and performance you expect from a Ferrari and is probably its purest product in the lineup. It’s viciously fast, satisfyingly intimidating but also not spiteful in its actions when treated with respect.

If this is what’s seen as a legacy product in the future, it’s a legacy Enzo can be proud of.

Ferrari 812 Competizione 2021 review

Should I buy one?

On the road as standard, the 812 Competizione is a £446,970 car, but carbonfibre wheels are £17,760, carbonfibre interior door handles are £2400 and one of the colour options – the launch silver with a yellow stripe – is £20,160.

Not that it matters. All 999 examples have been sold to people who, Ferrari says, tend to keep their specials as a loved part of a collection and rarely sell them on quickly. As a thing to keep and cherish, they’ve always been special. This time, it’s also terrific to drive.

This Crazy Ferrari 812 Superfast is on STEROIDS! Mansory Stallone First Drive - Shmee150

Uhh, didn't see much of the steroids being used there, boring video. Prefer those autobahn run channels to this kak, with them you can see the car at full tilt from 0-300+ and numerous hard driving scenarios in one video.

Mansory Gives Ferrari 812 GTS Overdose Of Vitamin C

When you think about tuners going overboard, there is one that really sticks out and they have created a Ferrari 812 GTS that will not exactly fly under the radar.

Mansory calls it the Stallone and the makeover is totally wild with orange used extensively coupled with bits of white trim.

The dashboard trims, seats, door cards, and centre console all come with orange trimmings. The seats have white accents, as well.

It sports a plethora of carbon fibre components to transform the look of the V12 supercar but the biggest head-turner will be the drastic rear wing.

To match the visual drama, the 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 has been dialled up to 820 hp (611 kW) with 740 Nm of torque. This is a result of optimizing the ECU as well as an upgraded exhaust system which no doubt sounds immense. The top speed will be 345 km/h while the 0 to 100 km/h sprint time is 2.8 seconds.

Ferrari 812 GTS vs 550 Maranello: tracing the V12 bloodline

While others convert to electrification, Ferrari remains committed to its V12. We evaluate its past quarter-century of progress through a 550 Maranello and a new 812 GTS

What does a V12 mean to you?

Is it the pinnacle of combustion-powered brilliance; a multi-cylindered masterpiece that’s among the smoothest and most sweetly balanced engines found in any car? Or is it just the final bastion of automotive profligacy, the antithesis of all that’s clean and green, awaiting its inevitable death knell from legislators the world over?

Ferrari should know better than most. Of the four manufacturers in the UK that still sell V12-powered cars (Aston Martin, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce being the others, if you ignore the odd niche luxury car), it has by far the longest back catalogue of road-going V12 models. In fact, you could argue that it’s a continuous one, too, given that Maranello’s flat-12 engines from the 1970s to the 1990s were actually wide-angled vees by another name.

And being mid-engined, it’s those cars – Boxers, Testarossas et al – that separate the two eras of front-engined V12, two-seat production Ferraris. The first one ended with the 365 GTB/4 ‘Daytona’ in 1973 and the current one started in 1996 with the 550 Maranello, which we have with us today, neatly bookended by the current 812, which we’ve also brought along to gauge what a quarter-century of evolution looks and drives like.

Ferrari 812 Superfast Crashes While Racing Seat Cupra In Israel

We have been fortunate enough to drive some fast cars and some really fast cars and it is just a matter of time until someone comes along and wants to ‘have a go’ no matter what car they are driving. We don’t take the bait but it seems the driver of a Ferrari 812 Superfat in Israel took the bait and learnt a very hard (and valuable) life lesson.

Dashcam footage shows the prancing horse undertaking numerous cars, including the camera car, at extremely high speed, with what appears to be a Seat Leon Cupra hot on its tail.

Both vehicles disappear out of view after passing some trucks in the slow lane but all of a sudden a fireball appears which is more than likely the Cupra. The camera car then passes the rear bumper of the 812 before arriving at the bumper-less Ferrari moments later. It is pretty evident that the driver is not entirely thrilled about what just happened but who is to blame here.

WATCH: Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta makes music in the streets of Maranello

The ludicrous front-engined grand tourer from the stables of the Prancing Horse released in May last year and now the limited production, track focused version of the Superfast has taken to the streets. Get a closer look of the Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta and listen to possibly one of the last pure naturally-aspirated creations from Maranello.

Delivery of the limited edition models will go ahead slightly later than expected, with all 999 Ferrari 812 Competizione and 599 Ferrari 812 Competizione Aperta models selling out rather quickly. The new caretakers of these V12 monstrosities are set to receive them in Q4 of 2022 but some lucky pedestrian and road users in the locale of Maranello were lucky enough to hear the latest GTs trundling down the road in some real-world testing scenarios.

Blu Le Mans Ferrari 812 Competizione Looks Out Of This World

Thankfully it is not finished in resale red.

Ferrari took the covers off the 812 Competizione and Competizione A in May last year and as usual, were almost immediately sold out.

The company is making just 999 units of the coupe and 599 examples of the versions with the removable roof panel.

Dealerships around the world have started to receive the units for their clients and Scuderia Monte Carlo may have the best one so far.

Thankfully it is not finished in resale red but rather a beautiful deep blue officially called Blu Le Mans. It suits the car so sweetly and the yellow details contrast the mesmerizing hue perfectly. The owner of this 812 also opted to have it fitted with various exposed carbon fibre parts, including the front air intakes, side skirts, and rear diffuser.

The inside is also rather special with a lot of carbon fibre but it seems to have been played rather safe and steered clear of any blue to match the magical exterior.
