The BMW X4 LCI has touched down and here are the specifications as well as pricing for this model in South Africa.

Unlike the BMW X3, the X4 LCI is not built in South Africa and is instead imported from the BMW facility in Spartanburg, USA.

Bucking the trend of oversized grilles, the 2022 BMW X3 and X4 LCI features an updated version of the kidney grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, new-look LED headlamps and some interestingly-styled rear LED taillights.

Inside, the 2022 BMW X3 and X4 LCI receive a new-look center console with the climate control now above the audio controls. There’s a new 10.250-inch infotainment screen, but if you go for the Live Cockpit Professional (standard on X4), there’s a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch screen on offer. There are also tweaks to the interior trim and materials.

BMW X4 is on the way out, to be replaced by electric iX4

The next generation BMW X4 is the latest victim of the electric revolution. According to inside sources, BMW was conducting an evaluation process of the next-gen X4 and came to the conclusion that due to limited interest in gasoline-powered cars, releasing a new generation of the X4 wouldn't be worth it.

BMW is introducing its purpose-designed all-electric Neue Klasse platform in 2025 and it will bring major changes to its vehicle lineup. The initial plan for the X4 was to build its next-gen replacement on the CLAR platform and offer a separate, electric version based on the Neue Klasse architecture.

The plans are changing now and gas-powered X4 are reaching the end of the road, the current model will be its last. The all-electric X4 - likely called iX4 - will arrive later than the originally planned X4 replacement and will be manufactured in Debrecen, Hungary.

The Neue Klasse platform is coming in 2025 and the first two vehicles based on it will be the all-new, all-electric BMW 3 series and an SUV. The internal designation model NA5 iX3 is the most likely candidate for the Neue Klasse SUV. The iX4 (NA7) will follow in 2026.

Mine spits out 12L/100km but i think i'm 100kw lower with a 2018 model , about the same tho 700 odd km on a tank. I don't use eco mode.
