2019 Renault Sandero Ignition Issues

I have the above car and have been through 3 starter motors in the last year. My mechanic said I should check with Renault to see if it was a known issue.
Apparently that model is prone to ignition issues. Turns out the key sticks when turned this the starter doesn’t disengage when the motor runs.
We have been quoted a price to replace the ignition at Renault. I have two questions.
Firstly if it’s an acknowledged issue shouldn’t it be their responsibility to fix it?
If not do I have to go to Renault to get it replaced. They say they need the part from France due to it being unique to every vehicle.

If the car was within warranty then technically yes

Not in warranty. Not holding my breath that they will foot the whole bill.
Also just keen to know if I can go elsewhere to get it fixed.

No they won't foot the bill if it's not in warranty.

Absolutely. You need a car that is built well from the ground up. Goodluck. This will be expensive.

Yes another starter and the ignition. That’s why I was hoping to be able to go elsewhere to get it done as opposed to Renault as they are obviously ridiculously expensive

Just replace the Renault ignition-switch with an after marked one like shown below, and Bob's your uncle.

Why not the button switch? Have two keys sounds cumbersome.
