Should I buy one?

The RS6 is devastatingly fast from point-to-point but, even while it’s likely that summer rubber could bring extra sharpness to the handling, lacks the overall engagement of the E63 or M5. It’s an entertaining car but not an involving one.

However, the sort of people who buy these cars - and the RS6 in particular - usually have a stable of other machines that deliver visceral thrills when they’re needed. And the more you drive the RS6, the more you fall for its compelling blend of talents. As an everyday car with towering all-weather performance potential, it has the others beaten.

Factor in the refinement, comfort and space, plus an exquisitely finished interior that’s one of the best in the business, and the RS6 is still one of the ultimate all-rounders.

ABT Reveal Angry 730 HP (544 KW) Audi RS6-R Avant

Last week saw the covers come off the ABT RS7-R Sportback and now the tuner has given us the Audi RS 6 Avant variant, dubbed the RS6-R (obviously).

Starting on the outside of the RS6-R, a carbon fibre lip spoiler has been added to the extremely aggressive front bumper, and a couple of inserts sit on either side of it. A large rear diffuser houses the quad-exhausts, and another set of inserts can be found above it.

You will find a set of semi-louvers on the hatch and a roof spoiler at the top. A total of ten new carbon fibre exterior parts have been added to this Audi RS 6 Avant.

To match these power figures, the suspension has been tweaked in the name of performance, and a stainless steel exhaust system has been added.

Wheelsandmore Tune New Audi RS 6 To Deliver A Whopping 996 HP (743 KW)

We already know that the new Audi RS 6 Avant is a rocket wagon and that is with the standard 592 hp (441 kW) and 800 Nm of torque from the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.

Wheelsandmore now offers a few packages for the wagon that take things to a Bugatti Veyron beating level.

Their Stage 1 offering will set you back €2,100 (approx. R40k) which includes regular software tweaking resulting in an increased power output of 700 horses (522 kW) and 920 Nm of torque.

Stage 2 includes a Capristo sports exhaust system and when combined with Stage 1 will deliver 715 hp (533 kW) and 930 Nm of torque. This comes at a cost of €7,688 (approx. R150k) so the exhaust is not exactly cheap.
