ABT boosts Audi RS6 Avant to 544 kW (without the over-the-top body kit)

Remember ABT Sportsline's crazy RS6-R? Well, the tuning firm has now released a more subtle package for the RS6 Avant, which includes the same 544 kW output but without the bold body kit.

In fact, the German firm offers two power upgrades for Audi's twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8, which pushes out 441 kW and 800 N.m of torque as standard. The first ABT Power upgrade increases the peak outputs to 515 kW and 800 N.m and result an improved (claimed) 0-100 km/h time of 3,3 seconds. At the summit, though, is the Power R pack, which boosts the wagon to 544 kW and 920 N.m, resulting in a claimed 0-100 km/h time of just 3,2 seconds.

Regardless of which output the customer chooses, there's also a new stainless-steel exhaust system (complete with 102 mm matte-carbon tailpipes) for a more powerful sound.

Audi RS6 Avant RS Tribute Edition

The highly-anticipated Audi RS6 Avant is now on sale in the US, and to celebrate the arrival of the high-performance wagon on U.S. shores, Audi of America announced the "RS Tribute edition."

A quarter of a century ago, the RS2 Avant kicked off the success story of Audi high performance models. As a tribute to the first high-performance wagon from Audi, the RS6 Avant "RS Tribute edition" with a limited production of 25 units, features unique design elements that harken back to the iconic RS2 Avant.

The RS2 Avant from 1994 established a completely new segment as the first Audi high-performance wagon. With its 315 PS five-cylinder engine, its extravagant interior design, and the vibrant paint finish in Nogaro blue, it made a strong statement that is still considered iconic today.

New Audi RS6 Avant RS Tribute Edition unwrapped for US market

Audi has revealed the new RS6 Avant RS Tribute Edition for the United States, with just 25 units planned.

Billed as a nod to the RS2 Avant, the special-edition model also signals the arrival of the high-performance wagon in North America (for the record, the new RS6 is scheduled to hit South Africa in the first quarter of 2021).

So, what makes the RS6 Avant RS Tribute Edition special? Well, the Ingolstadt-based firm says it boasts “unique design elements that harken back to the iconic RS2 Avant”.

These include the Nogaro Blue pearl-effect exterior paint, along with black trim on the grille, side blades, rear diffuser and roof rails. The side-mirror caps, meanwhile, are body colour. The hot wagon rides on silver 22-inch 5-V-spoke trapezoid design cast alloy wheels, while the brake callipers are painted red.

Hyper-wagon, anyone? Audi RS6 Avant boosted to a whopping 736 kW!

Audi RS6 Avant owners annoyed by the fact they cannot keep up with their neighbour’s Bugatti Chiron can now add a hefty lump of power to their performance wagon.

Yes, thanks to MTM's division over in the United States, the German wagon (along with other Audi products that adopt this engine) has received serious upgrades to the engine, alongside adjustments to the exhaust and suspension systems.

Using the twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 at the front, MTM has implemented a stage-four conversion in the form of revised intake and turbo inlets, an ECU optimisation, a software revision for the transmission (for improved launch control and shift points), a performance exhaust system by Milltek and an upgraded pair of turbochargers.

This increases the standard peak outputs of 441 kW and 800 N.m of torque to a whopping 736 kW and 1 249 N.m (almost as high as Wheelsandmore's effort).

Audi RS6 GTO concept marks 40 years of quattro

Radically styled one-off pays tribute to Audi's legendary 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car

Audi is marking 40 years of its quattro four-wheel-drive brand with a series of events and special editions – and the latest this, the radically styled RS6 GTO concept.

Developed by a group of apprentices at Audi's Neckarsulm factory, the GTO is based on Audi's 591bhp V8-powered performance estate and has been styled in homage to the firm's legendary 90 quattro IMSA GTO - a 2.2-litre five-cylinder racer that achieved success in America's IMSA series throughout the late 1990s with Hans-Joachim Stuck at the wheel.

Technical details are thin on the ground and the car has so far been shown only on the Instagram page of Audi's 'Azubi' apprenticeship programme, but the pictures do suggest that modifications to the RS6 go beyond its radical paint scheme.

The wheels, for example, wear white one-piece hubcaps with quattro badging and red centre caps, like the racer, and there's a prominent new rear spoiler finished in red. The livery itself stays true to the original car, with a slightly different design for the side stripes, and the number 40 applied in reference to the anniversary.
