2022 Haval H6 HEV - Enter the CCP

What is this? traffic jam cruise control

When you pull the cruise control stalk a second time it goes into TJA (Traffic Jam Assist) mode and it basically does all the low speed stuff a bit more elegantly than in normal cruise control mode.

I think ultimately it just forces all the stuff on if you otherwise turned them off, so the lane keep and centering and so on. I find it brakes a bit more softly than in the normal mode but could be all in my head.

Pulls away by itself a little faster and waits a bit longer before going to sleep and so on.

Don’t remember if the normal Adaptive Cruise pulls away by itself, I pretty much never use it.
How TJA Works
  • Adaptive Speed Control:
The TJA system works in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) to match the speed of the vehicle in front, even in heavy traffic.

  • Steering Assistance:
The system provides steering balance and lane keeping to keep the vehicle centered.

  • Low-Speed Operation:
TJA is specifically designed for low-speed driving in congested conditions, making daily commutes smoother and safer.

  • Driver Interaction:
The driver can activate the system by using the lever on the steering wheel and can disengage it by simply applying the accelerator or brake.
Key Benefits
  • Reduced Driver Fatigue:
By automating some driving tasks in heavy traffic, TJA can help reduce driver stress and fatigue.

  • Enhanced Safety:
The system's ability to maintain a safe distance and center the vehicle helps prevent accidents and provides peace of mind.

  • Effortless Driving:
TJA makes navigating through traffic jams less challenging and more comfortable.

62000 km later and first time I hear about this, will try it when I am in traffic again.

does anyone else with the HEV notice that the big traction battery discharges pretty quickly when the car isn't in use?

After I hadn't driven the car for around 8 days the status shows the battery at 0%. It started and drove fine and after a 10K drive to work its only at 28%. Driving the HEV with a flat traction battery I can feel a big difference in responsiveness for the 1st km or two

Traction battery? Presumably you just mean the hybrid battery.

Can’t say I’ve left the car alone that long to notice, but it does make some sense to me it would drain that first.

And I’m sure it would be less responsive as you are back to petrol only effectively and lost all instant electric torque.

yip the battery used for drive - check the level before and after a few days of not driving. Mine was around 60% where it normally hovers then 8 days later the level was 0%

Where do you even check it with that level of accuracy? I’ve never seen a percentage anywhere only some silly graph which is extremely erratic and more like Empty/Mid/Full than a real indicator.

look under "vehicle settings" menu go to the bottom most option, something like "vehicle state" and you get the % charge

So switched to Haval Cape Gate and the difference in experience was night and day.

Confirmation via WhatsApp when I made the booking and a reminder yesterday and updates through the day as they finished up with accurate timing for collection.

Got there and it was washed and ready as promised not “still in the bay please wait” or any of that kind of stuff.

Much like medical aid billing this service would have supposedly cost me R7000 out of pocket which seems mad but the crazy part of that is that the air filter was almost R1500 alone.

They changed the pollen filter and that clearly made a night and day difference and I realise the aircon must have been somewhat asthmatic and restricted because I had to turn it up to 22 from the usual 21.5 otherwise I would be freezing.

Interestingly even though they don’t do the wheel alignment there they noted it needs to be done which is accurate as I usually do it before service time, but I wonder if they actually check anything or just put it down as a reminder.

Shuttle service was ready and waiting while I just accepted I would Uber, which in future I’ll opt to do anyway because it’s a bit of a run around dropping off multiple people.

Oddly the car didn’t tell me it was due for the annual service (this never happens to me) and still had about 5,000km to go. If it wasn’t for the SMS from Haval Paarl I would have had no idea and run it out of warranty.

Only issue really I had is that they noted this was the last service on the service plan being the 60,000 service (it’s just over 55,000km now) and I was like that’s not right because the plan is 5 years or 75,000km.

Showed me on her screen that it says 61,500km for the plan ending so there’s something weird there and a potential fight because their website very publicly lists this car has a 5 year / 75k plan.

I’ll reach out to the sales person next week to query, but I’m almost sure I have it in writing on the original OTP docs as well.

Funnily enough in checking Google Maps for Haval Cape Gate it pointed me to a GWM specialist in Okavango Park which is very well rated so that may just be the option once it’s out of plan.

How long did you have wait to get booking? Chery cape gate which is same building, is like 2 weeks :(

I called them on Monday to book for Friday so not really sure if there is a wait since I booked into the future anyway.

Are they the same workshop? I didn’t specifically take note it Chery was entirely separate.

I take mine to Stellenbosch, they usually have space for me within a day or two.

I am going for my 75 000 km soon and they confirmed that I will have to pay for that one.

Yep they service haval and chery cars at bottom of the haval dealership. Service department for chery is inside haval dealership at back left hand side. Seems they more spots for haval cars.

Hmm I wonder if these first cars came with some kind of lesser plan loaded, but I’ll fight about that next week.

Their website very much says it should be going up to 75,000km…which one would logically assumed includes the actual 75,000km service.

I think the warranty is up to 75000km but the service plan is up to 60000km.

Thanks but if you doing annual services you should be about to get 5 services over 5 years right?
