No, it's working just fine!:D

Only problem is that I get a dull pain in my forehead after viewing it for 15-20 min.

I have brightness set at 28 and contrast set at 80.

I changed it to 15 and contrast : 40 but now the image is dull.

Any suggestions on brightness+contrast settings for the 2333SW samsung 23" LCD, and tips on adjusting brightness & contrast?

Which should I increase first?

I have my brightness and contrast both set to 100 and play games, watch movies, type documents etc for hours with no problems. Have you tried the software that came with the screen? It has a program that guides you through adjusting the settings on the monitor

i use the preset TEXT setting for general use and only switch to GAME when im well . . . gaming

sometimes use the INTERNET setting when viewing images

im guessing that you havent increased your DPI settings yet, you should do it. makes a huge difference.

I had the same prob when I got my 22" just give it time, your eyes will weaken untill it stops hurting :D

My 2333SW is set to 30 Brightness and 40 Contrast - this is for general browsing and work.
Adjust according to the game being played...
I have good lighting in the room I'm working in.

If the area around/behind the monitor is dark it hurts my eyes, keeping a lamp behind my monitor helps alot.

No issues after switching from a 17" CRT to 23" LCD either. Put it at eye-level, 1.5m away, brightness/contrast at 50%. Make sure your neck is at a comfortable angle (meaning as upright as possible)

Monitor is about 50-60cm away from my eye.

1.5m is quite a distance flarkit?

I set the brightness & contrast to 30 & 40.

Dpi set to 125 (made a big difference!)

My brightness 100 and contrast 80 and have no issues. 30 & 40 - wow that is dull.

Why is your your on 30 or 40, wow i never change my settings, i run the monitor stock and never have a problem.

Though i do have headache's in the morning and at night but grampa's are my best friend :).

Check out this link it has a brilliant set of test images and explanations of how to configure an LCD!

I've used this on all my screens and am really happy with the results!

I have a friend who also gets headaches from LCD monitors. For him it's the refresh rate though. On normal LCD's the refresh rate is 60Hz. His eyes go red and teary from that and he gets terrible headaches, but with a 120Hz LCD he has no problem.
