24-Month Contract Cancel

indeed, and had I actually downloaded "warez" I should be locked up, however all you have to go on are some words on a forum, which doesn't constitute as proof, unlike a contract that both parties have and one party breaks.

what you do in your own home is your own business. if they wanted and i am sure wbs would go that far is log your web activity, which might prove fruitless, but i would be very wary before tackling them legally.

just a thought.

Dont get me wrong either. i am not angered by WBS's decision, but what I am concerned about is i and everyone who has iburst bought it under the impression would have a throttled 64k line if we did exceed our allocated bandwidth.

they should have placed clear boundries. what is abuse. how much etc...

fight them for sure, you're a consumer who has been cheated by false advertising, but i think top management must have something up their sleeve

where can i find the user contract. i dont have one either :)

yeah I can't afford to tackle them legally, I think the best way is to use the media, anythign from this forum to websites, radio, tv, magazines, newspapers, but you make a good point they do have logs and would obviously use that information if they needed to

If anybody with a 24-month contract were able to cancel let me know the procedure please. I am going to try on my own tomorrow. I will let everybody know what happened.
The point is WBS should have throttled people from the 1st of April if they exceeded the 3GB, there systems should have been in place. They didn't, and now they come up with this nonsense as an excuse. Can't be associated with people / companies like this.

hi,
i found out how to cancel 24-month contract...they really want you to go there, take your modem etc. and a letter stating why you want to cancel(add evidence if you have about poor speeds), then you sign a document and thats that.

just stop paying. If they want to sue you. let them! it takes months. by that stage you will not appear in court etc.

just stuff them.

get their lawyer to phone your hotline ;)

then say its abuse that they call so many times!

jjtoymachine - my problem is not with speed - I had great speeds - It is with their bandwidth monitoring software that didn't work, which made me an abuser and then they just suspend my account because they can't get their act together and blame it on the few individuals that actually showed them there was a problem.
