240GT vs 9600GT

9600. memory can be clocked to a gigahert if you know what your doing.
 
The GT240 and 9600GT are based on different architectures. The 240 has interageted sound and supports dx10.1 where the 9600GT has neither.

Then there's also two different versions of the GT240. The DDR5 performs MUCH better than the DDR3 one.

I'd say it goes:

GT240 DDR3<9600GT<GT240 DDR5

the gt240 only has a 128-bit bus, so it's expected that the ddr3 one would have lack luster performance. but I agree with your performance scale.

if I had to add the 9800GT in the equation.. how will it read?

GT240 DDR 3<9600GT<249GT DDR 5<99800GT?

something like that? or isn't the 9800GT that great?

GT240 DDR3<9600GT<GT240 DDR5<9800GT

The GT240 though is a lot cooler than the 9800gt and doesnt require 6pin power.
 
When you talk about "cooler" you mean the performance? Or are you talking about the look?

How is it better? (If you're talking about performance... )
 
Im using a 9800GTX+ (Asus) i got it maybe a year and a half ago

its very good can still run latest games on med settings on HD resolution

I'm talking about the 9800GT... not teh GTx... or is it the same?

The one I'm looking at also DON'T needs a 6-pin..

when a GPU needs a 6-Pin, is that good or is that bad? Because I was thinking, IF it NEEDS one, then will it be able to produce a better performance?
