Noticed openweb has brought out 2meg accounts - I would need to have a 4mb adsl line to make you of this correct? Telkom has no 2mb offerings?

It's in preparation of the hopeful Telkom 2mb upgrades coming next month.

I do hope we get 2mb from Telkom! Only a few days to go. Friday or Monday is my lucky guess(hopes at least).

I will be taking it if it is at the price of the old 1mbs.

I also hope that 2Mbps ASDL line rental will be the same price as 1Mbps's line rental. If that is going to be the case, I'm going to downgrade our church's ADSL to 2Mbps uncapped, since we're currently running at 2Mbps due to stability issues.

Thanks for the info on OpenWeb Gold's 2Mbps uncapped accounts DrewChan!

your church has a 4mbps line uncapped line? thats very nice. why would a church need a line like that though? you uploading sermons/live broadcasts?

I hope they keep the line rentals as they are:

384k - New 1MB

1MB - New 2MB

Very nice to know, I was 4096 but synch 2048 because of stability (distance FML)
Was running a 4Mb account with MWEB, and thought - naw, downgrade ! 1MB stable, and getting what I need.
SO - if they do upgrade us to the 2048 profiles EPIC, but the price will be a consideration for me
Never tried Openweb... keen to see what they have to offer
