Line speed?

i can only get a 2MB line according to the area im in Chevron, well according to Telkom anyway. i have no intention to do gaming, downloads etc, purely streaming, and thats my concern in terms of current pricing for my needs.

yeh well that is when i checked on the telkom website, said that max i can get is a 2MB line. im happy with a 2MB line, if i can get one response from any of the ISP's with a straight answer to my question. I only want to stream content, no downloading of torrents, no gaming etc. the occasional browsing of the net and maybe a few emails. thats it. However, if im going to be throttled and so forth, then ill have to wait and see what the new year brings.

According to MickeyD, in some cases the checker will show the minimum speed available in your area, once an adsl service is provosioned and a modem configured, it can provide the maximum available speed (maybe ignoring the possible cases of a fastet dslam being available in the same exchange etc.)
