the old telkom deals were limited to LTE I dont think this is
I'm on Telkom through Axxess.
Shouldn't be any difference, as Axxess / Afrihost issue Telkom LTE SIMs that run on Telkom's network.
(unlike the MTN ones provisioned to run on Air Mobile ; details of which I think only Afrihost / Axxess could provide you with).
I've personality never sensed our speeds are being hindered in the way you describe - throttling / shaping.
Screenshots - a random speedtest from a few minutes ago + historical ones.
(the slowest 30 Mbps one was especially done shortly after power returned after loadshedding spell, to see how it would affect things).

Someone should test and revert. Mine is in a b525 and performing like a donkey on 4g.
still decently happy with the donkey
toying with fibre but any down time is not gonna work had 2 hours downtime with telkom mobile in almost 8 years so difficult to fault the up time
I'm using exactly the same Huawei model.
Perhaps a tower problem in your area / congestion ?
Have you played around with the network settings in the router (have mine set to "Auto") ?

ensure you get the one for telkom
even streaming at ultra HD and 2 working from home dont make a dent on this
at R699 its hard to beat.
And you basically get 2TB everymonth and the portion of data you didnt use last month. So you will atleast have 3TB's at the start of every month.
pretty much I have had 3 tb rolling almost from month 2.
More than enough data. I might go down this route again. I have the 2x Rain 5G premium packages for R1000 Iv had it for a year. It was a special they where running. So as soon as that ends I might consider the telkom 2TB again.
