3.1 - will it bring back some spark?

whoever hits now with a big and nice MMO will take it.
No doubt. People will look at EvE, sure, but most will find it...unsavoury. It's too different, and even with the new tutorials, it's still difficult to wrap your head around it. Understanding EvE takes time. Most people are too impatient to scale that curve.

There are a glut of potential WoW killers in the making. I doubt any of them will really make a dent - I like the idea of Champions Online - building my own superhero is too cool and i missed the whole CoH craze - but it probably won't make it big, at least nowhere near WoW.

There is but one possible dethroner, imo.

Star Wars.

Personally I have noticed on my server especially that the Pick-Up-Group (PUG) raids are extremely active.

There has been a huge decline in guild activity in general becuase of the quality of pugging on our server and the fact that alot of the pugs are lead by good players and are often better than guild runs. I can't remember the specifics but they have a really well designed website and it is really well updated and very reliable

I think it is great because it allows casuals to get some where decent as long as they are able to play competently without having to make a huge commitment to guild raiding in order to get DKP to actually get an item.

I my self dislike wotlk (sure there aspects of it I really like) but it does not hold my attention - so now what I do is look for alternative ways to play wow.

For example I bought a new account (that does not have bc or wotlk on it) and formed a Pre-Bc guild.
This guild is focused on playing and redoing content which is related to the pre-bc or 'vanilla' wow era. There are still a wide range of things to do and it is nice to revisit all of it. Guild does alot of PvP together, run dungoens, grind rep and are also working at level 60 progression in raids (without the aid of players above level 60).

I really enjoy what I am currently doing and I just think that everyone should become more adventurous and look for new ways to experience and enjoy wow.

Funny you mentioned that, busy patching lotro, decided to reinstall it last night. Time to blow the dust off Demora Lising the hobbit tank, and have a go at kneecapping trolls again

Lol, I have a picture in my mind of that scene in Star Wars where Yoda is fighting Count Dooku :)

lol, thinking canning my wow again at end of this month, but this time permanently. just not feeling the magick any more, i most possible just outgrown it since playing from 7/12/2006 8:30 PM onwards. sure i wanted to go around with my feral druid, about the only reason why i was wanting to play it after 60 days of absence, but same old ****. besides going to save me R170 p/m :)
