I've searched High and Low (maybe my Internet skills are failing me), but I am looking for a 3.5" SSD drive, Not hure, max 128gb.

I have an HP Proliant Microserver and I want to get the SSD for my OS. I bought some 2.5" to 3.5" brackets, but they don't work in the HP HDD brackets. Any Ideas/Advice?

Just get a 2.5" drive and put it where the optical drive is supposed to go - Enough space

You don't get 3.5 inch SSDs. Buy a 2.5 inch SSD and an adapter to allow it to fit into a 3.5 inch slot.

My Transcend actually had a bracket with it for 3.5".
Maybe just check with the suppliers before buying?

Edit: nvm. just read your whole post now -

The first question is... how don't they work? Don't they fit? The screw holes don't align?

Hmmm... this sounds like a plan, will check it out.

Well the 3.5" adapter screws fit in the bracket, but when I fixed the 2.5" hdd to it, it didn't line up to where it slots into the sata port in the pc, it's not aligned, it was more like an adapter to affix it to 3.5" space and plug the cable into it, but of course the HP Proliant Microserver has fixed sata ports, so it is made to slot in perfectly when a 3.5" drive is mounted to the bracket.

Get a 3.5mm adapter kit.
Or do what i did and get some adhesive velcro and velcro the ssd into an open bay.
Works like a charm.

Ah! I get it now, a problem indeed.

I bought an OCZ Vertex 4 SSD 2.5" drive. There was a 3.5" adaptor plate in the box. You attach the drive to the plate using base screws and the plate has an L configuration that should slot into a normal 3.5" drive bay. The Sata port should be aligned with a normal 3.5" drive. But you will have to check.

I think HP may have you by the short and curlys. I had the same problem with proprietary cases.
You will probably find that HP has the correctly fitting part for some additional money. And by some I of course mean lots.

It has a 8GB SSD memory part, then tries to learn where you most frequently accessed files like boot files are and then store it there instead of the magnetic platters Takes a while to learn and doesn't perform as well as a proper SSD.

I have a Western Digital Dual Drive, that has a separate 120GB SSD and 1TB HDD all fitted into a 2.5" body. Shows as 2 separate partitions in Windows and needs software for the 1TB partition to be seen due to SATA limitations. Obviously the OS gets installed on the visible 120GB first.
