If you're using your 100GB a month to download movies and games then you can't reasonably claim that you need that much or more.

That said I wouldn't mind having 100GB or more..

Hahaha so true and Isn't it ironic? All the countries of the world will stream the matches to the their citizens over the internet - except for the country its hosted in. LOL


Btw it really pisses me off when I hear about people downloading terrabytes of data per month because I know its probably Telkom employees family/friends who are given unlimited access by some form of a loophole, and yet the average joe has to make do with 3 gigs per month..

I have a 3GB cap and I have a night rider account (I'm forced to keep expenditure low as I'm not the one paying) and up until last weekend, There was still a gig available.

I'n now running on 40MB left... I think maybe it's time to up the cap...

Well I guess we dont NEED all the youtube videos, or even the game playing. Based on your argument we should all get 100 mb and only download email - as long as we dont allow pictures in email.

I've been an addicted gamer for a while now and I have to say. During a daily gaming session that easily lasted 15hours I didn't use up more than 500 megabytes. So that would mean that all I needed was 15gigs per month.

30 Gigs is alot more user/isp friendly than 100gigs considering internationally companies are starting to implement 40gig caps too.

I need 10 - 30. I have a netbook and a laptop and use Windows Live Mesh to sync them. Uses much bandwidth. Also use Jungledisk for backup. It kills my cap each month...

Time for Telkom to just append a zero to all their current accounts.

1GB International becomes 10GB international
2GB International becomes 20GB international
3GB Interntaional becomes 30GB international
10GB Local becomes 100GB Local
20GB Local becomes 200GB Local
30GB Local becomes 300GB Local

Otherwise restructure so its something like Do1 = 5GB, Do2 = 20GB, Do3 = 50GB

Obviously that applies to IS, iBurst, and DSL resellers as well. The price of 3G/HSDPA bandwidth HAS to come down as well. R2 per MEGABYTE? WHAT are these guys smoking!?!?!?!?!

South Africans like to take advantage of rare offerings like this and milk them dry so the majority has to suffer because of some pretty stingy high-end users (I'm talking about the guys who do in EXCESS of 100GB a month consistently). That's why mweb's also planning on killing their uncapped local option -- people are buying 1GB mweb accounts and doing hundreds of gigs of local on them. That's clear abuse :/ I'm not saying that kind of usage shouldn't be the norm, i'm just pointing out where the problem seems to be and why they persist imposing these kind of limits - it just isnt economically viable for the ISP yet. Let's hope the promises of SEACOM etc to change that become reality soon.

I play WoW at least 6+ hours a day. I use about 6 gigs a month JUST on WoW.. That includes Ventrillo as well for raids. Get rid of this crap they call a cap
