Hi guys
I just wanted to share my frusterations with dealing with Telkom. I live in Sunninghill in Johannesburg, a fairly developed suburb. And in April 2007 i moved from one complex, to a new complex that was completed in May 2007, which is approximately 1km or less away. Initially i just applied for a transfer, as i wanted to keep all the same account details and phone number. So i called them about a month after the application only to find out that they hadn't done the junction in the complex, although all the lines had already been laid by the complex, ready for terminations. So anyway I gave them some time and i called back 6 months later after seeing no Telkom activity. The response was then there was no more lines available at the exchange, not even voice lines, and they would have to upgrade or whatever. The estimated time was given as september 2008. So i waited ever so patiently and called back in October, and still the "we are currently doing a project in your area" response was dished out, and the estimated date was then pushed to november 2008, then to feb 2009, then to may, then to august, then to October 2009. So i then called in about 2 weeks ago, and the call center agent this time said that there is no completion date, no feedback, and basically she had no freaking clue if i would ever get a telephone line, let alone ADSL.
If someone, or a representative, or somebody from Telkom or somebody who knows somebody at telkom, please explain to me how the hell you bunch of clowns run the telecomms market in this country, I would really appreciate it. I know how long it takes to commission projects of that nature as I myself am in an electrical engineering environment. So please Telkom, please stop assuming that all your consumers are people without and incling of the way the world works. Also please stop blatently lying to consumers.
Anyway, thats my rant for the morning. I'm now at a loss and really am at the mercy of that big retarded monster we call Telkom.
Any advice?
