It's not actually a complicated thing to deal with, it is a problem that was allowed to happen.

The stopped paying the salaries in December.....no one came forward and moaned about not being paid lol. As guilty as sin.

If they serious about following up it should be easy. The salaries have to be paid into a bank account, banks need to have verification of the persons I.D. and proof of residence. I doubt any follow up though.

Weird. So are they just not sharing the details or simply inept?
Their HR systems don't have audit trails?
Do they not file documentary proof of every employee?
Do these ghosts not have bank accounts to which these moneys were being paid?

Points to systemic corruption and there is no other explanation.

No but it can be handed over to investigating authorities to follow up. I imagine the amount runs into millions. For scam this big it would have to involve Prasa senior officials and HR in cahoots.

You get a few 100's of these accounts, and you get a nice amount of money coming in for nothing.

And if this happens at Prasa.. what about other government departments etc? How many "ghost" are employed there?

And if these salaries are paid into accounts, the money should still be in the accounts ?
