3d Printers South Africa

With Regards to the bed leveling. I have a Ender 3 Pro Silent (PLA Onl)y and a home built Prusa i3 Rework (ABS Only). and I and busy building a Bear I3 Upgrade machine at the moment. the Bed Level on the Ender once set literally don't bump it. But to make life a little more sttick. the tiniest drop of blue / removeable locktight makes life loads better. On the Rework. I use glass and normal Cap Screws from the top onece leveld it's level. But the Next machine will be Auto Levelling, as I am certain that is a way to go.

Biggest issue I have found with printers is getting the software setup correctly. My Rewok Prints ABS Really SOLID, so much so that my new machine is printed with that Machine, but the Rework too will get a Auto-bed levelling. I use the Prusa Slicer, I have found it is way more configurable then most packages and you can reolve most issues with the software

Soon to Join the Laser Cutter an CNC router in the garage is one of these vacuum formers. https://teespring.com/stores/maketinker/collection/digital?page=1

I am building one of these at present,
very similar to the Protoform machine plan I bought ages back. This one is just more fun.

All I know I really need to find a market place for all the space 3D printer Stuff I have accumulated while building them. so many choices and so many parts to buy incorrectly... hahaha

This bed levelling is a mission. My ender 3 worked perfectly with the sample filament. I've now ordered some new stuff and it prints like crap. Ending up with filament that is now sticking to the bed, but not sticking to itself. So 1/4 way through the print I just end up with strands everywhere.

Seems like it back to rechecking/resetting everything up.

Gawd these 3D printers are so finicky :(

Try printing a temptower to find a decent temp for the filament... also check nozzle size in your slicer.

I've had a fairly stable bed for some reason this week - haven't had to re-level once.... busy printing 608 bearings as a temporary solution so I can finish off my damn enclosure, surprised how well its going considering the small size and moving parts - hopefully I can finally do the final parts of the enclosure, figure out how to mount the filament, and then fit everything.

I loose my office on the 1st of March - and the printer has nowhere to go, so need my enclosure done by then :p

Tempting, they were at 24 units on the Creatilty Ender 5 in the morning and now down to 4 now when I checked. Oh well, I still have an unopened oscilloscope from 2018, I don't need any more TOYS! I don't!

There's always room for new toys!

What is the Ender 5 like?

I'm wanting to sell my Wanhao D6 as i just can't find build tak for it anymore and my adhesion has gone down the drain.

I'm loving mine. It is heavily modified though, but even without all the mods it was functioning great.

For adhesion I just slapped on a piece of glass. I've had very good success with the ClearVu from Extrusion World. No Pritt or anything.
If you want to go ABS I would suggest getting something like Magigoo + glass or alternatively Whambam. Whambam is very pricey though.
how does the Ender 5 handle glass? Cause my Wanhao can't detect the bed anymore once i tried glass - it seems the auto bed level sensor is induction based and looked for something it couldn't find in the glass.

I saw this gem today, will save me loads of time looking for that missing STL through different folders. (No, I'm not the best at naming files correctly. :))

Looks good. Gonna jump in the deep end with a big print tonight & hope I get the exposure settings right for a 0.1 layer height. This was printed at 0.05.

A little nervous about a resin print this size. 650ml, 750g. Would prefer to tilt these models but time constraints etc. So...

Can't really show the detailed side. Was expecting hiccups but this went surprisingly well. Haven't had a chance to check tolerances yet but everything looks good.
