3D TV in SA

You can already do most directX games using Nvidia's 3D software and the glasses. Haven't tried it yet though.

Yip that's what I was talking about in my first post. The issue with Nvidia's solution is that you need a PC Monitor capable of 120Hz and then you ALSO need a special pair of Nvidia glasses and the transmitter....none of which can be found locally and you have to import them. The samsung LCD that is capable of the required 120Hz is also very small....I'm not going to move my gaming from High Res 26" to lower res 22" just because its in 3D. So now that they're pushing the technology into the living room, perhaps console 3D gaming might be a LOT better and more adopted.

Don't like it

I don't know if theres anyone out there who've had the same experience as me. But everytime I watch a movie in 3D at the cinema, I always end up with a headache..Is there someone out there who can comment on this? Also, is this good for your eyes? somehow i feel doubtfull about it..
Also, the entire TV watching population around the world, have in recent years spent millions on getting themselves a decent 42" + LCD HD Television, and now they're bringing this out?? What, now does everyone need to jump and get themselves a TV that supports 3D..
And what if the Digital TV gods decide that they're going to broadcast 3D content only...we'll HAVE to get 3D TV's..
Also, is the entire family going to sit and watch tv with their 3D glasses? and god forbid there's a rugby match on tv and the entire circle of friends are there to watch..and someone forgot their 3D specs at home..
I can see these specs getting lost, scratched and broken, so you'll have to replace it by buying from the manufacturer of your tv, because we ALL know that the tv (made by LG for argument sake) will only work properly with LG 3D Specs..and Samsung with samsung etc..(it's just a slight color diffrence on the lens, and you'll be stuck with one brand only).

I don't like the idea...who's with me?

okay, this is really ancient, but don't you think it would be better to do proper vr 3d in a game rather than some kind of fake depth emulation?
i mean, if you're gonna stick something on your head, a vr pov tracker would be better, right?
i'm guessing this isn't what the nvidia gadget is...

anyway, i'm not so sure about 3d monitors without glasses.
have you seen those '3d' advertising screens at ort?
watch them for about 5 minutes, look away and you're cross-eyed and ready to throw up.
hopefully the new tech won't be anything like that.

@krusty: i know that a stronger eye often compensates for a weaker one. perhaps when the two have to focus independently, the weaker one gets unhappy. would be interesting to know if guys that wear glasses have the same issues.

Once I get a 3D TV I'll buy the Avatar Blueray movie! Yeah Baby!

P.S You can just imagine what is going to happen in the adult industry with movies!
