3D TV is dead, finally

Still waiting for a cheap flat 2D OLED TV.

Hoping my Plasma lasts until that day to avoid downgrading to LCD.

When plasma was killed LCD could not compete but nowadays its mostly comparable. Recently made the switch as my old plasma was dying and don't regret it.

Only thing plasma still does better is movement and unfortunately today's OLED's don't solve that problem. Though apparently unlike LCD there's still much room for improvement in that area and parity is expected in a year or so.

Yes please! Actually watching less movies out nowadays as a result.

Indeed,a few times myself and the wife were in the mood to go watch a movie and the nearest cinema to our location only had that particular movie in 3D,because of that we didn't go and the cinema lost business.

I ended up downloading a "linux distro" instead.

Ster Kinekor should take note,their greed in charging more for crap 3D is actually costing them.

Now please get rid of curved TVs while you're at it.

Seems porn industry didn't take a keep interest. Now let wide and *gulp* ultra-wide be next please. It's about time we got proper screens again that cater for ordinary people and not just those that only watch movies.

I got no beef with 3D but not concerned about these guys canning it. Enjoyed Killzone 3 in 3D and Crysis as well back in my PS3 days. The lack of 3D games on the PS4 was a tell tale sign for me

Porn industry has moved on to VR. Not sure how big it is yet, but I suspect there will be a mass up take of some standard in the next few years.

Like others in this thread I'm still happy with my good old non-smart LG plasma.

Considered getting a newer LCD or LED a couple of times but never went through with it as the plasma always just seemed to have a better picture, especially with lots of motion on screen.
