Hi

is the Huawei E220 the same as the Fastlink E220 that MTN is advertising? If so are the Mac Intel driver available.

Thanks

Nick

Good day,

We have the MAC drivers for the E620 but not for the E220 will advise on that ASAP

Okay here's the feedback

VC are using a UI from Diginext and the VC UI has the driver pre-built in we are looking at similar solutions Huawei are also working on getting E220 drivers sorted for us in the meantime

I have an E220. Two questions:

1. How can I check on the remaining data in my (very expensive) bundle?
2. How can I change airtime into a data bundle?
WITHOUT removing the SIM card to a normal cell-phone, doing the tasks, putting the SIM back into the modem, and then having the schlep of having to reset many of the options in the cell-phone I used? My Nokia (and my wife's) don't like having different SIM cards put in and out.

Thanks

Is this a prepaid number or contract??

Prepaid:

Dial 141 & follow voice prompts

Load airtime and then dial 141 to purchase data bundles.

Contract:

Dial 808 to get exact and updated minutes.

Pre-paid Snakepit

BUT how do you dial or hear voice prompts on an E220 that has no keypad or sound? That is the whole problem. The E220 is just a modem, unless I am missing something.

You can send and receive SMS with the Mobile Connect software that comes with the modem, but that is all.

I do not think that MTN have thought this one through!

Well i dunno about you but im more interested in the 3.6mbps maximum speed that the modem itself boasts- when this functionailty rollout this little modem will be one hot commodity (heck il have one for my kitchen my bathroom and my gym!)
sure its nice to be able to phone, but lets face it, have you actually tried to make a call on that e620 card, im not going to nitpick but its just not the same as a normal phone guys....
since you have the usb modem im sorry but i dont see any other way around this, il check if there are anyother options....

But when the networks do have the 3.6 mb/s capability the max speed on the modems then will be even faster :D With regards to the sim in modem problem can't you use windows phone dialer with head phones?
