Hi guys

My question is to MR VODACOM 3G.
Just upgraded from 6630 to n70 and am having real 3g problems on the n70.
My 3g signal is excellently full yet, it still switches to normal gprs, whilst prompting me to reconnect my pc internet connection.
I have netmonitor on my 6630 and know it doesnt work on n70.
I need to sell my 6630 and cannot rely on that old, but great phone any longer.
I have spent days researching this very topic and have come to the conclusion that only you the Vodacom technical expert can help.
Its not like i dont have a good signal and updating my firmware wont give me umts only so could you guys force my phone to 3g?
I dont even care if the 3g signal stays forever even if im out of coverage!
The Sheraton 3 tower in Diepriver is where i get 3g and its relatively close.
Do i really have to keep my old potatoe?
And finally what is the meaning of life?
1001 thanks.

The answer is, of course: green.

Sounds like your handset is switching to GPRS when there is a decent 3G signal around? I assume this is a VLive handset?

Load celltrack and find the best 3G "spot" for the phone. Hopefully it won't switch over then

Demon Angel if your using a 32k sim card or lower, try using a 64k sim the voltage is higher and on many occasions i have solved many problems by doing a sim swop for a client to a 64k sim card. Vodacom3g this topic has been brought up my theory on this subject is that all new 3g/Umts phones require a higher voltage sim card. I have found that clients with 3g phones usually experience full signal but when people call them they get the subscriber you have dialed is unavailable at present other symptoms are short battery life and a delay in short messages.

If it's not a VLive handset, can't you force it to 3G in the normal menus?

I thought it's only the New!, Improved! VLive handsets that have this superfluous feature removed?

Nope, my buddy also has non-vlive n70 and the setting is non-existent!
I also thought that the option would be there, because uk company (3g),
have n70s that have umts only options.
I hope to Budda that they release a firmware update to rectify this...
I think its a flaw so fatal of the n70 that there should be mass protests, riots etc.

And Bundy, i have that new sim and my friend has a 32k.
Doesnt make a difference.
Cant Nokia just give us n70 users a better deal?
I got so upset when i saw a work collegue with a simple little s40 6233 setting his peanut-brained cell to umts, laughing at my beige brick and comparing size!
Next time i will toss my n70 at his head and as he lay there passed out, i will take his phone, stick in a Cell-c sim shouting "Wheres your 3g now?huh?"
