3GB data bundle

I cant seem to find an answer to this problem.Also i never called there 183 number yet.
This seems much faster :D to post the question.
OK if i buy seven, 3gig special bundle for 149 in one week how long will it last or expire:D
I was thinking about 7 months:D
I would "guess" that it will be 60 days from the day you actually load the vouchers (i.e. activate them).
 
Cellc has prepaid 3gb , valid for 365 days, @ R399 once off.

Anyone know whether the 8ta 3GB bundle works on iPhone? I see they have iPad packages so just wondering if they have an iPhone APN too.

Hi, please note the 2GIG + 1GIG Promo is intended for data only.
You will be able to make and receive calls but you will be limited by the 8ta coverage (it does not roam).
If you keep the above in mind, then yes it will work on your iPhone.

That's 250mb/month for R33 which effectively works out to R400/month for 3gigs.
Fail.
 
Went over by 2GB on my previous bundle before being cut off. Grabbed it back when I tried to recharge this morning. Took the 1GB midnight as well. Not cool.
 
My E1820 is just an ornament at the moment. Emailed 8ta to get the 2G + 1G Data card sorted and am still waiting for "second line support" to call me. Also tried to register on the 8ta web site and got " We are unable to process your request. Please try again later " routine. I see the 8ta rep is busy on this forum, maybe he/she can help out......PLEASE?

What do you mean? Did they deduct a charge from your recharged amount and how much per mb?

I went over by 3.69GB. Will see if they do anything.

Loaded R149 airtime and as soon as I purchased a new bundle, they took the 2 + 1GB, leaving me with nothing.

Bought another bundle and I haven't used the midnight portion yet. The Telkom portal advises my bundle as:
Ad-hoc_Mid-night_1GB
GPRS: 3072 MB remaining 0 MB used.
Activated on: 01-Oct-2011
Expires on: 01-Nov-2011

I have after several days still been unsuccessful in using this prepaid special. Initially my SIM was not RICAed, fortunately at 50c a SIM I managed to acquire another one which was setup within an hour.

Pierre has kindly switched my SIM to only use the 8ta towers. I then called the call centre to have the SIM converted to a Pre-paid Data Promo Rate Plan. However, it has been at least 3 working days, and after loading R150 (which took me a while to find a store that sold vouchers, and only in denominations of R100 and R50) I am still unable to purchase that specific bundle having been greeted only with the following options:

Send:1
Receive: DATA BUNDLE
1) 100MB R50.00
2) 250MB R100.00
3) 500MB R150.00
4) 1GB R250.00
5) 2GB R380.00
6) 5GB R800.00
7) Return to main menu

I am unsure how an ordinary (read: non-BB citizen) would manage to go about getting this prepaid bundle! 8ta is making us jump through hoops to achieve this. I think this process really needs to be streamlined and made much easier.

Any assistance in this regard would be highly appreciated! Thanks.

EDIT: and I must mention sitting on hold for 15-20 minutes every time I call and listening to that terrible hold music does nothing to help my angst.

After being on hold for a further 20 mins and spending 20 mins repeating the process from last week I have sorted out the issue. I'm happy with the results, however, I still believe it can be a cumbersome and difficult process for anyone who isn't that tech savvy.

EDIT: it seems the best option is to go to a Telkom Direct/8ta store and have the whole shebang done there. Sometimes a bit of a schlep, but a necessary evil it seems.
