A suggestion go visit your local CNA and see if they've stock on 24gig bundle for R1499 also check your local Marko. 24gig (2gig x 12) + USB dongle.

The thing is, I'm in a very dodgy reception area for Cell C so don't want to fork out that kind of money for something that might stop working any day. And apparently they steal the cables to the (temporary) tower quite often as well. Bloody agents.
If only Vodacom would offer similar priced deals on prepaid...

So any idea what model modem this white one is?

I just looked at it's specs and it seems that it does not support 900Mhz at a faster speed than EDGE. How does that work, I thought the Cell C network runs on 900Mhz?

It does, the specs on the site you are looking at are wrong.


Incidentally, the 3G frequency specifications are all wrong on Cell-C's website as well:
