Hi guys

My experience with all this , thx for all the feed back - i followed the ffg process

bought a normal prepaid sim
sent an email to make it non roaming
waited 3 days for this
once non roaming called 8ta cutomer service to convert plan to per second billing - new sims already have per second billing
requested to have 3gb promo
loaded onto my sim by customer agent
waited a few hours to take effect
walla - have it loaded on sim, loaded airtime and purchased bundle

DrYes did u do the same as JohannesPaulsen ? Please excuse my ignorance, if the menu is not available on the same - how do u purchase the bundle ?

Stick the sim into a phone and load airtime as you would normally do.Remove sim and put it into a speedstick and log on using you pc.When the 8ta dash pops up go to services and dial either *180# or *188#.You purchase the bundle from there.
make sure you've loaded enough airtime in you phone to cover the R149 cost of the promotion.
you do the initial application for the promotion telephonically tho.

Get it converted to non-roaming, check whether option on the menu is present. Then load SIMM to the stick and you can browse 8ta Web site to test 3G coverage and connection. It looks like it is zero rated, you don't need to load airtime.
