4 cameras for CCTV

So you can view these cameras on your phone, and record onto sd card.
How can you view them on your tv ?
You can't unless it's a networked smart TV, or you have a TV box, PC or something plugged into the TV.

No clue .....
So how do you monitor the camera on a smart tv ? Download an app ?
Nah cause they have chromecast you can just tell Google to stream on said device. I also have a few Google displays around. Though generally you've got your phone on you, just check through the phone.

Think these depend alot on the quality of the hardware. Ive got Ring cameras 25m from the router, no extenders and walls in between and they have probably gone offline once since i installed them (couple years now). Good option if you dont have access to power close to the camera or if you want something that can function during LS
We are using Dahua (Imou) cameras. We have others installed that we haven't had reports of them going offline, so we are going to check what the issue is with the camera. Since the camera is on the street - there are multiple other tenda devices signalling in the area as well , but might also be a power issue.

One other issue with wireless if it's not close to your router - the multiple other routers on the same frequencies.

Sending my tech out to do another assessment today for a customer whose OR is wireless cameras in their warehouse. techs instructions are to dissuade the customer from the wireless choice.

Oh ok. I'm not a yuppie or oke with his bum hanging out. Old School. Want to check on the tv and not my phone all the time.
I'll get one of those Tapo's and see how it works.

Why would your bum be hanging out? Also why would you be checking on your TV? You literally have your phone with you, just open the app and check :-). But you may have issues with it if you're not got your bum hanging out :-P

It can be done, but each situation calls for a personalised plan - many Smart TV brands use their own OS, so most of the google android VMS don't work.

The tv screen is BIGGER than my phone's screen. For instance: When i'm having a braai i can leave the inside TV on camera monitor and as i walk by have a quick view.
Can you view 4 cameras at once on the tv ?

Chromecast :-) most work on that.

You technically could view 32 :-)

Sure, many people loved their GSM gate openers untill the schlepp of getting the phone all the time, moved them back to carrying a remote. Especially when you need to rapidly check a number of monitored cameras in an emergency.

Isn't just connecting the NVR/XVR with wireless HDMi adapter a better option?
I mean if you've got one of those installed sure and don't mind having wires running through to the cameras for the NVR,XVR.
I mean I've seen those and they cost about the same as going for these wireless cameras.

Those tapo cameras are great. I installed 8 a few weeks ago. 4 outside and 4 inside. The only thing extra I needed was to wire some plug points to the carport. The 4 cameras at the carport all ruin from the same plug point.

You can also set specific alerts if you are not home via the app.

Only issue i have is that the AI human detector is to sensitive. It picks up my cat as a human.

Considering getting another 8 to cover the entire property.

I can't get it to steam to my TV yet but I do share my phone screen to my TV then it works. 308791861.jpg

How did you extend the power supply of the cameras ? Cut and insert a longer wire or did you buy an extension ?

Bought 30m of extention lead cable and ran it to the closest plug point inside the house. Attached a double plug on the other end and secured it to the ceiling of the carport and a 4 way adapter with 4 x 2 pin plug points for each of the cameras.

Good thing is I now have a plug point outside under the carport albeit I will need a ladder to make use of it.

One more thing. The one camera under the carport is an internal camera as they can pan and tilt so I can remotely turn it to face the other way. The normal outdoor cameras cannot pan and tilt.

How long is the power cable that comes with the outdoor camera ? (I'll just cut, solder and tape it)
