Telkom can expect a call tomorrow then - lets hope when they officially done with testing the prices wont be too bad and we can afford the nice speeds

You will have depleted your 3GB cap in 131 minutes at 400Kbps. And then you would be left with 43069 minutes before you have a new 3GB cap allocated.

That sucks, my adsl is only going to be installed on the 9th of January 2007.

didn't the icasa regulations say "instalation not longer than 30days?"

sigh- so telkom have apparently upgraded my line to 1mbps but nothing happened after a day.. so i foned tech support and i was told to verify my line by going to www.telkom.co.za/dsl/ but there is no link or anything about verifying. anyone got ideas?

Firstly can say I am not very technical.
Having just come from the UK where Broadband is very quick uncapped and cheap it is nice to see a little catching up here in SA (if not a reduction in price!!)
Yes my speed has also quadrapled which is good. However, by Sept 6th I am well over my 3Gbs but downloads (ie TV from UK, Radio, Skype etc) still seem to working at full speed. I am assuming that if I require extra Gbs I have to ask for them. I hope Telkom cannot bill me for extra if I have not requested them.
Any comments?

download speed upgrade is great news...but when are we going to see an increase in the upload speed???
