Hi guys

After the recent Telkom upgrades, my line is syncing at 4 Mbps, but MWEB told me that my data is still on 2 Mbps. (MWEB Premium Uncapped ADSL - 2Mbps)

So I want to get on the 4 meg bandwagon and considering the options below:

MWEB Uncapped ADSL - 4Mbps - R449
MWEB Premium Uncapped ADSL - 4Mbps - R769
Telkom do Uncapped Advanced - 4Mbps - R548

I’m currently paying R599.

Which option should I go for, to avoid heavy throttling, etc.

I download around 120 GB a month max, might be a bit more on a 4 meg line…

Any suggestions welcome.

tnx!

On the Premium 4Meg they only throttle at 400GBs. Not sure on the normal account.

So if you're gonna be downloading more, get premium.

TI are having a bit of a hard time at the moment by the sounds of things - hasn't really affected my capped usage but I am on a download fast until Feb/March - but they are a decent ISP with shaping and no absolute policy of throttling, and more importantly they haven't lied about never throttling unlike MWEB.
Afrihost are an awesome ISP and if you go with the business product can have an unshaped service but even with shaping their home product will allow you to enjoy 4Mbps of awesomeness

Tnx, was thinking of afrihost. Been with mweb for a few years and they've always been competitive with pricing so don't want to just drop them. Maybe there are specials on the way..

Hi Salex

The thresholds on the standard 4Mb uncapped package is around 110Gb and on the premium it is around 400Gb.

If you have anymore questions then feel free to ask :)

Tnx for that will probably try the standard account for a bit. How do I go about changing to the standard?
