40% DSL bandwidth per bit price drop

The reality is this. Nobody wants to drop the price too far anyway because the money they make in a protected market (thanks DoC and ICASA!!!) is lekker. Telkom cannot feel any pressure from Neotel because Neotel cannot get into the fixed line business due to the LLC not being opened up. We are being held for fools!

The articles always have these "wonderful" titles... and then the content as described above.

RPM, could you maybe take a look at changing things like this in the future? Bandwidth is a very sensitive topic to us and these titles aren't exactly helping.

Caught me too... In future I won't read ANY article "produced" by a "Staff Writer"... Note, no "Staff Journalist" ever writes anything...

I think we should take the glomail approach when reading these seeming great articles.Im constantly dissapointed when actually reading them.Its a sick joke.

But what I fail to understand is with all the hype re. SEACOM locally we have yet to see any price reductions?

While this is interesting news (and I don't use the word interesting in a positive sense, but anyway), albeit because of Title length constraints or whatever the reason, headlines like this are misleading and reflect very poorly on MyBB. Please Staff Writer, get your act together. It is getting to the point where - whenever I see the author as the MyBB Staff Writer - I ignore the article completely, because as previous articles, it is misleading and filled with different wording to articles previously posted.

Now really - MyBB has higher standards than this to post a news article with a headline as misleading as this ... pity ... 'cause I wouldn't read it and now I have to take my anti-depression mooty to get over the let down! :mad:

Agreed - competition is the key - but we ain't seeing here any time in a hurry. So long as there is incentive not to push competition by all the players, it won't happen.

This time around I am starting to think that it isn't just Telkom who should carry the blame ... we just do not see anybody trying to gain market share through innovation or tweaking the pricing :mad:

I have been paying the same exorbitant rates for years now, and have never seen any 40% price reduction, headlines like this make me fed up, its almost as though these CEO's are trying to convince us of what a good deal we are getting
