Compare that to how much you're paying for slow, capped 3G/adsl, cr@p DSTV and Telkom line retal!!!

Yes yes we know, no need to post the internet options from a 1st world developed country.

Perhaps you'd like to compare the price of a pint of beer as well, or maybe taxes?

Okay, so you are saying that internet prices are not comparable because the UK is a 1st world country. It's expected that their speeds are higher and prices lower because they are more developed. Fair enough.
So South Africa being the most developed country in Africa should have the fastest, cheapest internet in Africa? But that's not the case.
All I'm trying to say is that we're being screwed over in this country.
Apparently even Zimbabwe has a faster average than South Africa...

Why? What do you mean?

I lived in the UK 6 years ago and had 4mb uncapped + cable tv + landline for £30pm from Virgin.

I mean in case of fiber optic, which is still not available everywhere (as we like to make it sound all available option). The rest have to deal with ADSL of varying degrees of quality.

But still agree that they pay much less.

Zimbabwe is a joke ,,they cant even keep the lights on

Zimbabwe’s incumbent fixed line telephony and internet service provider TelOne has unveiled plans to expand the footprint of its ADSL broadband networks. A report from local news agency New Ziana says that the operator is looking to increase ADSL capacity from 22,000 lines to 38,000. TelOne currently claims 8,601 ADSL subscribers, with coverage in five cities: Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Marondera and Gweru.
Hahaaaaa

At the current rate of progress (384kbs is still called fast internet) I doubt that we will see affordable 40mb uncapped in this lifetime in South Afrca.

Dude, when do you ever check the news??

384kbps has been upgraded to 1mbps / 1mbps to 2mbps...

Yes, we are slow, but the upgrades are happening - and faster than ever before (in SA terms).

:erm:

with just over 3000 IP's being the base for that average??

SA's average was based with over 4 million IP addresses.
