Which one is the best in performance and which one is the best when taking into consideration price-performance?

Well the gts250 1gig will be better in high res...depending on the resolution i still think the 4850 is the budget king...a new one for 1.8k is a steal...especially when the 4770 is 1.7k right now. If it comes down to 1.4k more or less then it will be the best when you consider OCing. I'm planning to get the 4770 when it comes out

I've seen the 4770 get overclocked and perform better than a 4850. I just don't know why it costs so much here when it's $100 in the US

R842 in the USA ? probably ex vat, shipping etc.

This is roughly waht it will cost when imported (its on pre-order)

ATI Radeon 4770

The 4770 is too expensive. Remember that Nvidia cards have PhysX;)

oh, that's so cool, that's sorta one of the more redundant features of graphics cards today, just as is DX10.1 is.

I would stick to ATI, but then again, Nvidia is seeming to be the most supported amongst the game developers... but ask yourself, do you want tech that's been used for like 3 (or more) years with the gts250 (which is has, as it's a 9800gtx+, which is an overclocked 8800gts which is 3 years old)
Or, would you want something with 640/800 mini processors(not 128), 1+ gFlops of processing power, with DDR5 (the HD4770), AND DX10.1.

you be the Judge

I run heavy PhysX Calculations in 3dsMax and my ATI handles it fine.
