4G in SA anytime soon?

Hey all,

So I was just wondering if there is anyword of SA getting 4G anytime soon?
Was just taking a look at some of the upcoming tablets, 100Mbit download and 50Mbit upload on 4G.
Thats extremely amazing, I would love something like that. Would make downloading the Gameloft HD Android games a lot easier, 700MB would be done in a few minutes

I do not want to start a debate about the speeds being extremely fast and pointless with the low / expensive mobile data we have in South Africa. I just simply want to know whether there is any news of SA getting 4G in the near future?

you mean 3.9G/LTE ? LTE advanced is a way away still.

I would say we will see it commercially before the end of 2012. There is allot happening in the LTE space in africa at the moment.

yep, and they're all waiting for the ITA for 2600mhz and 800mhz....

Elderly people are complaining that they are getting "fried" by 4G signals

Let them sort out compliance with CPA first. Then they can ask for new bands.
