4mb ADSL Line Dropping

@AfriGuy. But I don't think it can be the distance as I have had this line for a few months with no problems. Check your pm.

I have organised a router. What do I need to check? The DS and Line Authentication?

I have same issue, also afrihost where my line is. The actual line was replaced by telkom. So prob must be afrihost

Well I organised a Billion W40(Mweb) router and tested it for about 15 hours now. So far it has disconnected once. But it reconect very quickly. I could at least play games online with no issues.

My DS=10.5 and US=14. Line Attenuation Upstream = 27 and Line Attenuation Downstream = 48.5db. Is this normal?

I have the same issue, some days it drops 10 times an hour sometimes its fine for a few days, random packet loss as well. Once it drops only a router reboot gets the SNR high enough to sync again.

Since the figures are much the same as the first router, we can confirm its a line issue. PM TelkomZA and show him this thread.

Thanks Rickster appreciate the help I will ask TelkomZA and see if they can help.

So you are saying my router has no issue and that it is fine? Why was he mega 105 dropping more than the billion?

different firmware/chips works better on certain exchanges

Hi Guys. So The problem is sorted. The issue was with the router it seems. The Billion has not disconnected yet. I am looking to get a Netgear N600 or N750. Anyone know if these two can take a 3G Dongle for backup when the DSL is offline?

So my internet disconnected yesterday while I was playing online. Was going well for bit more than a day! This is frustrating.
