4Mb line malfunctions - what can it be?

did ya try making phone call as it tries to sync then put it down after it does works for me also

Telkom are USELESS.

I phoned a guy called "Weaver" yesterday and he escalated the problem for me as said. He said they'd call me back in 5-7 hrs and he also sent a mail to his manager. Today, no-one has still looked at my problem - a rude, arrogant guy called "MONDI MZIMELA" told me that this is not his problem and that I should not have had the problem escalated at all. He also didn't know anything and said that it would take 4 days. It was MONDI MZIMELA's opinion that he wasn't representing TELKOM and that it wasn't his problem what TELKOM did or who I spoke to earlier.

So basically-- I report the fault on Thursday night.
Friday afternoon a guy from TELKOM calls and says he checked everything and now needs to come out because he hasn't found any faults. He said he'd call at 9:00am Saturday.
8:30am - Bradley calls from TELKOM. He tells me that they haven't worked on my problem since 11:00am Friday and will send some one at some stage - he doesn't know when - he sounded like he didn't care at all. I called TELKOM yesterday - spoke to WEAVER who escalated the problem. Said someone would call within 5-7 hrs. Said that their techs were working on Saturday.

TELKOM are useless. I've had this stupid ADSL line for under 2 months and already I regret ordering ADSL. I also cancelled iBurst so now I have to find a way to get connectivity from Tuesday at home because these TELKOM is worthless. Man if there was a competitor I'd dump them yesterday.

Tell me PeterCH is your silence an indication you are now off-line or has the matter been resolved, I am keen to hear.

About 3 weeks ago my line also suddenly started dropping, my router battled to sync, etc. They then changed my line down to a 1MB line and all was fine, a couple of days later the techie came around and said there was absolutely no noise on the line, he then sat for about an hour to try and get through to the Telkom call centre and asked them to change the line back to 4MB's. After that all seemed fine. I think they are having some serious issues with their exchanges, perhaps a lack of maintenance, who knows. I stay in Vredekloof btw.
