You may need to ask Telkom to do a Line Test.
I am not familiar with your router but from what you posted it looks like it is only synching at 896 kB/s downstream?

Can you not borrow your mate's router and try it with that?
At least then you will be able to isolate whether your router is causing any problems or not.
