Btw.....If a person wanna upgrade......How long does it take +- to upgrade??
Premium product will be more expensive and guarantee 4mbps speeds. Will have to fork out extra if you want the guaranteed experience (like with unshaped).
Well.....after much thinking, ive decided to upgrade ( dont like being left behind ).
Luckily my region is 4mb compatable...
Well, my 4mb dsl isn't really all that spectacular at the moment. Yesterday torrents were doing 1024 speeds, today all has gone to sh*t and my speed is slower than my original 512. The lines synching at 4096, I'm hoping it's just teething problems.
Just my two bits of speculation ... if Telkom intends on using the 4MB service for any sort of triple play/IPTV option, they're going to have to price competitively to take business away from DSTV etc... assuming they are going to bundle the services together.
The approach most international providers take is usually to increase the bandwith (speed) and keep the price the same. If Telkom follows this approach and until Neotel catches up, I wouldn't expect any decrease in bandwith costs but possible increases in the bandwith offerings for the prices we currently pay.
It's going to be really interesting over the next few months to see how capping and bandwith pricing are affected.
