4Mbps ADSL rate synchronize

Hi guys my Telkom adsl 4mb used to sync at 5114mb download n 508 upload now I’m seeing it’s at 4608mb download upload still the same should I be worried and complain or just leave it?

Hi. You wont believe it, I had/have exactly the same stats. Mine went to 4608kbps after logging a support request though.
My telephone line went completely dead, and after they fixed it, the sync stayed at 4608.
Are you noticing much speed differences in a speed test? my current speed test results are around 3.85mbps.
Before, my actual speed test results were 4.0mbps on the dot.

Mine is doing the same also I will log a fault

Yes, it is. Back when I was on ADSL, my 10mbps did the same. I used to contact TelkomZA on twitter and they did something and it would sync at the higher speed again, for a while and then just drop again. I eventually gave up.

Have to keep on complaining that’s the only way they will sort the problem out

As i have it they give you slightly more ( their system ) to sync closer to what you pay. If your on a 4mbps package and getting 4.6 mbps, why complain ?! Scoring 0.6 extra download speeds.

I'm on a 10mbps package and my line is syncing at 12mbps so i'm getting 9.8mbps...

Ask them for a port reset maybe?

With the rate it’s on now it’s goes below 3mb download before used to go straight 4 no problem
 
Spoke to frank on Twitter he dropped the rate to 4096 and now gone worse did a speed test through lan and max getting 2.80 to 3mb before used to get 3.80 to 4mb
 
Ok so spoke to a guy direct they redid the profile and said the line on there side is good now it’s synchronizing the same as before and getting my 4mb perfect he said sometimes it will be higher because of the distance
 
Yeah the extra 1mbps in speed is dependant on distance from the exchange, type of exchange box and line quality.

These are my stats and I am paying for an 8mb line, which use to sync at 8xxx down, did they sneakily downgrade my profile to 4mb while I still pay for 8mb? My router stats are **** btw I was just forcing the 8mb thing and it worked for well over a year with intermittent disconnections, but even with my line syncing at 4mb I still get disconnections and a lot lately, what do I do? :(
 
Report it could be your line has a fault tech has to check for noise
