Guys we have released a similar product to the IS 100 GB Uncapped.

Ours comes in a 50 and 100 Gb and is based on Fiber. Using SAIX bandwidth.

Once you hit your cap you will be lowered to a speed of 128k

The uncapped will work on 384, 512, 1mb and 4mb connections.

Month to month or 30 days?

What happens if I add the service today?
When is expiry? Last day of the month or only on the 20th of May?

But the website says:
"Please note once the above account hits its limitation either 50 Gb or 100 Gb it will automatically rate limit the user to 64k until the end of the month at which time it will be upgraded to full speed again."

Hi,

Sorry mistake on the website, the contract period is 3 months. However if you are completely unhappy we will end the contract. We do not force people to stay in contracts if they are unhappy. You dont build a good business name like that.

dont u ppl know uncapped means unlimited yes there is a 50 gig or 100 gig limit or CAP

PLEASE LOOKUP THE WORD "UNCAPPED". ffs. Uncapped means.... uncapped... no restrictions. .
 
YEP should remove that from the website and state that its a 50 to 100gb Capped account! Its NOT uncapped!.

Also - WAY too expensive!!!

Everytimg any ISP lanuches a new product here, you blast them, consider

that all our products are retricted by Telkom in everyway.
 
Its common knowledge that SAIX restrictions are in place - and quite understandable that its why your product is so pricey!. But to state that your product is UNCAPPED when its really not is a worse lie than saying "Our product costs R999" and somewhere in smallprint it squeeks "ex VAT"

When you're going to advertise on this forum, you got to realise that you're dealing with a community that's been formed because they feel they are continuously being ripped off by telkom and some ISP's or whomever. And you're going to get people voicing their opinion whether you like it or not!. Take this Crit as it is and use it to your advantage, don't throw it back at us because it will just make it worse for you!.

If you had a product that said Uncapped and you actually came in below what i'm paying for my real Uncapped service with openweb and it included VAT without me having to grab the calculator, (and it doesnt matter if it was also on slow IS which is shaped sometimes) i would likely switch because its cheaper!. - Doubt you'd be criticized for beating another ISP with price, only if you don't deliver!

Yes guys. They are restricted by Telkom/ICASA/DOC. Don't blast the ISPs. It's Ivy's fault. Don't chase the ISPs off the forum. That defeats the object.
 
But ye, if you just said 50gig cap with 128k throttle afterwards then you wouldnt be lying and then no1 would blast you.

I think any new product, as long as it doesn't replace or restrict any old ones is always a good thing, its an addition that'll likely work for some people. Of course everything's restricted by Telkom, there's nothing wrong with the product, just don't call it uncapped if its not, that's all. ;)

We hope that when people release a product to us, they are more honest with the marketing.

And WickedWeasel, I can just as easily say I have a 3GB Uncapped account but as soon as I reach 3GBs, I get throttled or cut off :rolleyes: . 50GB Uncapped is a bit of an oxymoron...actually it's more of a lie.
 
Yeah, slightly off topic, I thought I was the only one confused when IS said they had a '100 GB uncapped' service :) Turns out i'm not alone...

50 GB Cap & Throttled at 128k after Cap - SAIX Backbone, Connect at any speed you wish - R 3306 VAT Inclusive
100 GB Cap & Throttled at 128k after Cap SAIX Backbone, Connect at any speed you wish - R 6498 VAT Inclusive

So looking at it further...

50gig Cap, 17x3gig Telkom accounts @ R249=R4233
100gig Cap, 33x3gig Telkom accounts @ R249=R8217
Also, WW said his prices includes the line rental, IS portions etc. all 1 price, No?

So all in all, if you're looking for a 50gig or 100gig Capped unshaped account(until capped) on the SAIX backbone ideal for gaming etc - you do save!.
At the end of it all, its up to the user to justify if they want to fork out R3300 or R6500 pm on Internet!!!...

IS 512k Uncapped, Shaped during the day, Unshaped afterhours - on Openweb R999 (if i'm not mistaking) Not great at all for gaming, Fantastic for Torrents :D
