500 GB

damn i have a 2tb..watch very little movies and few series

where do people get time to watch and watch and watch

I do, takes me a few days to watch a movie but I don't mind. Get home, make dinner, switch on my things, eat and watch, normally fall off to sleep during the movie.

R5600... that is too pricey. but I guess you pay what you really want (in this case you wanted quality and comfort)

Most of us plebs. just get a SATA Dual Docking station (or the dual HDD dock)

I bought it mostly because I have a tonne of RAW pictures that were all over the place I needed a solid RAID setup. I wouldn't buy it for movie downloads.

Hard to believe, but okay.

Maybe hard to believe but assure you it's real. Done on a prepaid simcard with a 500gb for R50.44 bundle. Simcard in a Samsung S8 connect with a usb cable on a usb 3.0 port. 4G+ aka LTE-A used. Tower is basically like 300m away from there I stay abd when I stand outside I have clear LOS.

When I use my B315 I get LTE only obviously and speeds reach about 70Mbps on LTE only.

Telkom offering new Night Surfer data bundles following 500GB for R50 deal - https://mybroadband.co.za/news/cell...ata-bundles-following-500gb-for-r50-deal.html

Telkom said it is offering new Night Surfer data bundles to customers, following the conclusion of its 500GB for R50 LTE promotion.

Telkom’s 500GB for R50 SmartBroadband Wireless LTE promotion gave users 500GB of Night Surfer LTE data for R50, valid for 31 days.

It was brought to an end on 5 May 2018.

Customers who purchased the 500GB for R50 deal received an SMS from Telkom stating they should “keep an eye out” for new offers, however.

Telkom, just tell us what the effing offer(s) is!

^this, they change all the time. Might as well start a Mo Nice thread where the deals are posted.

I don't understand how this Mo'Nice works, how can I buy if it doesn't give me my option to buy 500GB for R50

I did think about it but, I don't have time to be micromanaging the thing and installing 3rd party software etc.

Mine runs windows with software raid ( it doesn't do raid 5 ). You can also mod the server to upgrade to six bays with the os booting of a internal usb. Give some of the threads a read in the forum.

Not knocking the synology but I found it a lot more expensive and the server doubles as my index server with SAB, SONAR , Couch, Librarian etc.

1) 250MB Data @R11 (30 days)
2) 450MB Telkom Data @R11 (30 days)
3) 26 All network mins @R11 (30 days)
4) 80 All network mins @R34 (30 days)

All I'm getting from Mo'nice so far

Believe me, I did extensive research on the setup you have. Was going to run unRAID or FreeNas. That solution would probably been more powerful more capable, but that was not my priority for my needs. There are a number of things that made me go for the Synology over a custom build.
