The 640GB is a RAID-0 device, while the 500GB is a single drive, I assume.
If that's the case I'll sacrifice the cost per GB to reliability. RAID-0 I mistrust,
since my LaCie Big Disk Extreme debacle.

it's got a 3 year warranty, and if a HDD lasts over a year, then it's going to last a long time

and i'm liking that 3 year warranty,
