Hi guys

A friend wants to buy a 500gb network storage device for his office network....I've tried google but all I found was this thing and I still need to buy an additional HDD for it

Is there a product that comes inclusive of a 500gb hard drive?

Thanks

Western Digital Mybook world edition 500GB

Features:
Capacity gauge display
External 500gb (3.5", 7200rpm, 16mb cache, 8.9ms)
USB 2.0
Gigabit UTP network ready

There is an easier, and cheaper way! Find youself an old PC, preferrably with SATA connectors on the motherboard, or buy a cheap 2-slot PCI Sata Card, and add a 500gb Sata drive, then install FreeNAS!

You can use IDE or SCSI too... Whatever floats your boat!

Easiest, and cheapest method by far! :)

I like the FreeNas Idea but they ganna use it on a ship so it needs to be portable...

I like the Mybook World Edition. Frontosa and pinnacle ( cape town) sell them but I am not registered with them so they won't sell to me!!!

I don't won't to order via an online shop so is any1 registered with frontosa/pinnacle? I dnt mind paying an extra 5% or what eva for you to buy it for me

thanks
