50m Network CAT Cable

I use a HD wireless transmitter I got from Miro, was about R 2200 for the two components. With an HDMI splitter, I can watch HDTV upstairs quite easily. My house is a mission to wire up because of the convoluted roof arrangement and layers, so this did the trick.

But if you are building, have the electrician run you conduit where you want it, and get him to put in draw wires, then you and he will know the pipes are free from blockages

Can you link to where you bought the HD transmitter?

Very easy. The most difficult part is threading the cable through the ceiling.

Here's a video by a professional installer, (not someone who got fed BS by the guy at his local PC shop that a lesser spec cable is somehow way awesomer and better) explaining the difference between the different categories of UTP cable, as well as their history. He doesn't cover Cat 7 though as far as I know, since that's not really used for home installations. Also that's shielded I think...

It covers US installation codes but the tips apply to any installation as well. Basically just ensure that the cables don't get damaged. Also untwist as little of the cables as possible when you add the connector or wall plugs in the ends.

Thanks, will run through all the vids when I get back from Rage :)
