Traffic & street lights within meters of my SDC?... is a real problem!!!
Still requires the metro to do the connection...Traffic & street lights within meters of my SDC?
Agreed, but don't see this as a differentiator as to why near exchange SDCs are chosen over far ones.Still requires the metro to do the connection...
How do you guys know how far you are from the exchange closest to you?
Well, checked router status...decibel reading came down by a whole 1. Now sitting on 56db. Did a mybroadband speed test, 2 meg line:
Local
0.38kb/s UP
0.41 kb/s DOWN
International
0.09kb/s UP
0.41 kb/s DOWN

Attenuation increases by roughly 13.81 dB for every Km of cable length used. So divide you DS Line Attenuation by 13.81 to get an estimated cable run in Km to the DSLAM port (at the exchange). How do you guys know how far you are from the exchange closest to you?
Usually one of two things, or a combo of both. Line has degraded (high error rates) or the backhaul from your exchange has become congested (usually at peak times).WTF they did to break it so badly?
