Its quite simply.They have changed there target market.They are now targetting the Black youth market , and maybe some stupid white kids who think rap is cool.Like most SABC owned radio stations its targetting the non-white market.Look what happened to Radio 2000.A tradtionally english /british station.Now it totally black.

they want more listeners so they can make more cash off advertising etc... so obviously they're going to go for the biggest market - the black youth.
what bums me out is the fact that there is more and more of that (c)rap music everywhere you go (shops etc) so there's no escaping from it for people who hate it!

It's cheaper to make urban music so it does not surprise me that it's popular... the industry markets this music aggressively to the masses who lap it up and they are able to turn a quick profit.

Since when does my skin decide what music I am supposed to like and not like?! Since when is rap music "bs"? Since when does liking rap music or not make me a "stupid white kid"?
Some people just Happen to like certain music more than others. It's called personal taste or whatever you like to call it.
If I don't like rap music, I just
1) Don't listen to it
2) Listen to something else
So should 5FM be happening to play some rap song (etc etc) I don't like, I move over to another station till I find something that I like. Other times I just don't bother.

rap music is crap, stupid white kid is you are ( listen to the lyrics !! not your scene ) its "angry criminals" music justifying crime off all sorts especially the american rap scene

I don't think they are selling out, it's what the youth want... not only here but in every westernized country, they are only adapting.
Blame the US for forcing their crap on us.
